NO HUMAN INVOLVED
GROUPS DOING GREAT WORK who deserve your donation
GLITS is a NYC based organization founded by Ceyenne Doroshow, a transgender woman of color who has been incarcerated for sex work in the past. GLITS approaches the health and rights crisis faced by transgender sex workers holistically using harm reduction, human rights principles, economic and social justice, along with a commitment to empowerment and pride in finding solutions from our own community. GLITS provides immediate need/crisis support for transgender sex workers, including community members from the NYC area, across the US and globally through supporting asylum seekers from our priority communities. Watch an interview with Ceyenne and Alia recorded and edited by PJ Starr (the director of NO HUMAN INVOLVED) to learn more about these issues. Donations to GLITS are tax deductible.
SWOP BEHIND BARS provides community support for incarcerated sex workers and connects incarcerated sex workers in US prisons and jails to the sex worker rights movement. SWOP BEHIND BARS calls attention to the violence, stigma, and discrimination that occur against sex workers that are perpetuated by the criminalization of prostitution. The group provides a monthly newsletter, books, study materials, and sex worker pen pals for incarcerated sex workers. Upon release from jail or prison, SWOP BEHIND BARS strives to help sex workers meet their basic needs, by providing resources, networking, and linkages for successful reentry into their communities. Donate to support college and paralegal scholarships for incarcerated sex workers, including a scholarship in the Marcia's name. SWOP BEHIND BARS also accepts donations of books.
The Outlaw Project is an Arizona based organization founded by Monica Jones who appears in the film NO HUMAN INVOLVED. The Outlaw Project is based on the principles of intersectionality to prioritize the leadership of people of color, transgender women, gender non-binary and migrants for sex worker rights. The foundation of the Outlaw Project is the culmination of three years of planning by coordinator Monica Jones and supporting advocates. The project is named in honor of Sharmus Outlaw—transgender woman of color and sex worker rights advocate--who passed away on July 7, 2016. The project works on the following priority areas: economic justice for self sufficiency; harm reduction and health promotion; community-led solutions to violence and to mitigate the impact of oppression because of criminalization; decriminalization of sex work and removal of other repressive laws and policies. Donations can be sent by Paypal using the email [email protected].
